For my masters I completed a year long, self initiated project. The subject was completely open to the student, which meant I could focus all my efforts on something that really interested me. Trying to choose a single topic was very difficult, so the best route was to narrow down the subject over time.

The first subject was the vernacular of protest signs, which moved towards propaganda, then to freedom of speech and finally the subject ended on freedom of will. Specifically the philosophical idea of determinism. But at heart I am a graphic designer, so it had to be a project that combined these two, which formed the final project ‘Determinism. Design. An exploration in decoding complex messages through simple graphic design’.

Each week I would create a couple of posters to present to my peers. They would comment on the design and the contents, how I could develop each. These are examples of these weekly posters.
